Biggest Surprises and Disappointments of the Year!
Hello! Today is Bookmas day 3 and today I am going to tell you about the disappointments and the surprises of the year!
The Surprises:
- The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton - I, at first, did not think I would enjoy this book but I actually really loved it when I read it for school.
- Long Way Down by Jason Reynolds - The concept did interest me but I thought I would not enjoy it as much as I did because of it being for school and I was surprised by it being in verse.
- Words in the Deep Blue by Cath Crowley - I loved the concept but I had heard a bad review of the book. Now that I have read it, it has become one of my favorite contemporaries.
Disappointments:
- Animal Farm by George Orwell - I don't usually enjoy classics but I enjoyed this one, I just was a little disappointed by it.
- A Midsummer's Night Dream by William Shakespeare - I did this play a few years ago, but it was a dumbed-down version so I decided to pick up the actual play and I won't say I disliked it but I expected a lot more from it.
- Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare - This book has so much hype behind it that I expected a LOT more from it and it turned out to be 3/5 stars for me.
That is it! I hope you enjoyed! What have you been reading recently? What are some of your surprises? Disappointments? Happy Reading!
So long,
~D.
